Serendib Flour Mills (SFML) recently stepped forward as the official sponsor of the Culinary Art Food Expo 2018 – Sri Lanka’s largest showcase of brands and businesses in the hospitality and food and beverages industries. The highly anticipated Expo was held from 1st – 3rd June 2018 at BMICH, and Top Chefs from leading hotels & restaurant’s from around the country participated.

SFML partnered for the first time this year with Chefs Guild of Lanka and the World Association of Chefs Societies to organize the event. In addition  SFML is also sponsored the ‘7 Star Master Baker of the Year’ award where over 45 chefs from main hotels from different parts of the country  including  Cinnamon Lakeside,Heritance Kandalama,Club Hotel Dolphin,Hilton Colombo,Grand Hotel Nuwaraeliya etc. The Grand winners for the “7 Star Master baker”  were 1st Runner up BlackPool Hotel team headed by P.Madushanka Jayawickrama, 2nd Runner Up Shangri-La Hambanthota team headed by RUWAN MADUSHANKA and ultimately 7 Star MASTER BAKER CHAMPION  was Cinnamon Bay Beruwala headed by Chef Gayan Sadaruwan. This was a novel initiative set up to engage and encourage bakers and culinary enthusiasts. The company  operated two dedicated stalls at the Expo that featuring top ‘7 Star’ wheat flour products.
