What quality means to us: Our commitment to delivering quality includes an ongoing effort to produce the very best wheat flour products, understand our customers’ requirements, invest in the latest technology and machinery and minimize all pollution and harm to the environment:

Integrated Management System (IMS): Serendib Flour Mills has developed an integrated management system based on ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 22000:2018 and FSSC 22000 requirements. Our IMS complies will all applicable laws, regulations, international standards, codes and best practises when it comes to operational areas such as manufacturing, health and safety, environment and monitoring.

Compliance: The company also complies with all of the guidelines and regulations that are stipulated by industry authorities in the areas of food, environment, consumer affairs and in the Codex Ailmentarius. Serendib Flour Mills adheres to SLS standards including SLS 144:2019 Manufacturing of Wheat Flour standard and applies AACC testing methods throughout its operation.

Health & Safety: Food and occupational health and safety are of the utmost importance to us. We have identified and taken measures to prevent food hazards and ensure food safety throughout our entire production process. We have also taken steps to eliminate occupational risks that employees or third parties could potentially be exposed to at our facility.

Covid-19 Safety Management System: During Covid-19 pandemic, company was able to obtain SLS 1672:2020 Covid-19 Safety Management System certifications and this certification has been temporary ceased considering country’s current regulations and current country’s declaration on Covid-19 pandemic. However the company continues the Covid-19 control measures in order to protect its staffs from new and other communicable diseases also to deliver safer product to its utmost consumer.

Environment: We are committed to the prevention of environmental pollution and have deployed a resource management system to ensure less wastage and the recycling of unused materials and resources. To find out more about our sustainability initiatives click here (like to sustainability in CSR).

Process protocols: Our dynamic quality management team ensures that each batch of products is subject to quality controls, continuous checks and assessments at every stage of production. The Serendib Flour Mills facility has the capacity to mill 1000 tonnes of wheat a day and can produce everything from smooth All-Purpose Flour to Bakers’ Flour to Cake Flour and wholesome Atta Flour. The Buhler Swiss Technology used at the facility is fully-automated, requires zero human contact and has a product interlocking system which guarantees that all final flour products are safe and of the highest quality. An online and offline checking system is also implemented to track and analyse every aspect of the production process.

Certifications: Serendib Flour Mills has obtained FSSC 22000 & ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Management System Certification from Bureau Veritas India as well as ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015 Quality Management System Certification from Control Union Inspections, Netherlands. ISO 45001:2018 from Indexpo Certifications Limited, Sri Lanka. These are most recognized quality related certifications in the world.
